Understanding the meaning of various domain name status helps to know the security situation of domain name, the reason why it cannot be used normally, etc., so that corresponding measures can be taken in time.

I. Newly registered domain name, the following status may appear.

1. ‘addPeriod, registry sets new registration period for domain

(Domain is registered less than 5 days, the status may appear, it does not affect domain usage, the status will be automatically lifted after 5 days).

2. ‘ok, normal status (Domain can be used normally. When there are other status, OK is not displayed, but it does not mean that domain is abnormal.)

II. For protection of domain registration information, the domain name will appear the following status after some security lock.

1. clientDeleteProhibited, registrar sets the prohibition of domain deletion (A status to protect the domain and domain can not be deleted).

2. serverDeleteProhibited, registry sets the prohibition of domain deletion (A status to protect the domain and domain can not be deleted).

3. clientUpdateProhibited, registrar sets the prohibition of domain update (Domain information, including registrant/administrative contact/technical contact/paying contact/DNS, etc. cannot be modified, but resolution records can be set or modified).

III. Other prohibited resolution and prohibited renewal status.

1. clientRenewProhibited/serverRenewProhibited, registrar or registry sets to prohibit renewal (Domain can not be renewed, the status usually means that the domain is in arbitration or court dispute period, need to contact the registrar to confirm reason).

2. pendingVerification, registration information audit period (The domain has not real-name verification, you need to submit information audit as soon as possible within 5 days after the domain registration, after 5 days still not real-name verification, the domain will be ServerHold status).

3. clientHold, registrar sets to suspend resolution (Domain name resolution is suspended under this status, which need to contact the registrar to solve).
